Application & Installation
This FlipFix plasterboard access panel with beaded frame is ideal for any application where regular yet discrete fitting access is required to concealed plumbing, electrical wiring, or other building services in a fire-rated partition. The panel is for inspection use and is suitable for personnel access.
Installation Guide:
- Cut the Aperture: Mark and cut an opening in the plasterboard that is 5mm larger than the panel size being ordered. For example, for a 600 x 600mm panel, cut a 605 x 605mm hole.
- Insert the Panel: Place the access panel – beaded frame into the aperture. The FlipFix device covers all plasterboard thicknesses from 8mm to 32mm.
- Secure the Panel: Simply tighten the FlipFix device using a screwdriver. The specially designed clamps will automatically grip the underside of the ceiling or the back of the plasterboard wall, securing the frame firmly in place.
- Finish the Surface: Tape and joint the perimeter. The beaded frame allows for applying the plaster skim coat seamlessly over the frame for a professional, flush finish.
