Installation:

Kindly note the following is intended as a guide only. Please always refer to the full installation manual for instructions.

Partition the ground into a sequence of rectangular sections (excluding any immovable objects or flat furniture on the ground). Compute the measurement of each rectangle and aggregate them to determine the overall unoccupied floor area that needs heating. It is advisable to utilize an electric underfloor heating mat that covers 90% of this area.

If the floor is screed over concrete, it is advisable to lay insulation boards to minimise heat loss and ensure quicker warm up times. Begin as near to the thermostat as you can, place down the initial stretch. At the conclusion of the stretch, trim the mat while keeping the cable intact, rotate the mat by 90° or 180° and carry on with the laying process. Once the entire area is covered, modify the mat until the loops are evenly spaced. Next, fasten the mat to the subfloor by utilizing the provided special tape.

In order to power the thermostatic controller/programmer and the mat system, an RCD fused spur needs to be installed. Place the temperature probe from the timer-thermostat onto the floor, equidistant between two cable loops, and secure it to the floor surface. Take the unheated power supply cable from the end of the mat system, which should be located near the thermostat. After all the power supply connections have been made, turn on the heater(s) and verify that they are warming up within a maximum of 10 minutes.

You have two options for preparing the surface before laying tiles. One option is to apply a thin, self-leveling screed over the mat and wait for it to dry before placing the tiles. The other option is to use a trowel to apply flexible tile adhesive directly over the mat and then lay the tiles. After grouting, make sure to allow the tile adhesive to cure before turning on the system.
