Thermoguard Thermocoat WI is the ultimate water-based intumescent paint system providing essential fire protection to structural steel and cast iron. This high-performance intumescent coating is engineered to offer up to 90 minutes of fire resistance to load-bearing elements of structures, ensuring safety and compliance. When exposed to heat, the paint undergoes a chemical reaction, causing the expansion of an insulating char layer that protects the steel from reaching critical failure temperatures.
Key Features
- Water-Based Formula: Thermocoat WI is a water-based intumescent paint, making it low-odour, 2010 compliant and safe to use in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
- Efficient Application: Achieves superior fire protection with a minimum number of coats, saving time and labour costs. The paint may be applied by brush or airless spray.
Uses:
- Thermoguard Thermocoat WI is optimised for Universal Beams, Columns and other open section steel.
- Thermocoat WI is optimised to protect I, channel, shaped steel and hollow bracing
