Valve jackets are ideal for standard ball valve insulation, mainly because, they give you energy savings whilst not only protecting the valve from extreme conditions but also creating a safer workplace. Here’s why, in our expert opinion, valve jacket insulation is the best:

Easy to install: Unlike the rigid insulation that was previously used to insulate check valves, valve jackets are flexible, lightweight and easy to use. Armed with velcro straps and pull cord, valve jackets ensure airtight insulation even around the awkward angles of the standard ball valves. You can just as easily re-install them causing no harm to the insulation or standard all valves whatsoever.

Thermal Insulation: Mineral wool with low thermal conductivity provides effective thermal insulation to the valves. They give superior insulation around the standard ball valves thereby saving both energy and money. Valve covers are particularly useful in commercial and industrial settings as they help improve the energy-efficiency.

Safer Workplace: Made with top-quality silicone glass cloth, valve covers not only give effective insulation but also give a neat and professional look to the standard valves. In addition, the valve covers also help protect personnel from direct contact with hot surfaces of the standard ball valves. They help reduce cases of accidents leading to burns in workplaces

Since valve covers provide such superior thermal insulation to the jackets, it helps reduce condensation and sweating in standard ball valves. Thus, fewer pools of water are formed due to condensation, thus reducing slips and accidents at the workplace.

Valve Jacket Insulation Foe Standard / Isolation valves

Valve covers are probably the easiest and most efficient way to insulate standard valves. Valve insulation jackets are also a key part of a valve's safety and reliability. Not just that, they help improve workplace efficiency and of course, save energy.

At Buy Insulation Online, we have an extensive range of valve jacket insulation. You can buy standard-size valve jacket insulation online. If you have bespoke requirements or are unsure about the right fit for you, please email or call us and we will be happy to sort things out for you.

We also do site surveys for commercial and industrial projects. If you would like us to visit your site and quote you for your valve jacket requirement, we can do that as well.

Standard valve jacket insulation is made in standard grey and standard black colours. They are available in standard sizes ranging from 15mm to about 100mm.

Why use standard Valve covers?

Following are some reasons why valve jacket insulation is the best way to insulate standard or isolation valves, in our expert opinion.

Thermal Insulation:
Valve jackets that we supply here at Buy Insulation Online contain 50mm Rockwool Insulation. Mineral wool insulation used to insulate the standard valves is well known for its thermal insulation and fire resistance.

Mineral wool has low thermal conductivity meaning it will restrict the heat loss through standard valves. Less heat loss means more savings in terms of energy  and money

Make:

These valve jackets are made using silicone-coated glass cloth. The fabric or the cloth of a valve jacket is the most expensive part of the product. The fabric is often constructed of fibreglass with a coating of  PTFE or another high-performance substance.

The cloth surface is coated with a silicone rubber compound. The fibreglass cloth is resistant to tears, punctures and abrasions. It is also resistant to oil and water, which makes these valve covers perfect for use in petrochemical and other industrial facilities.

The fibreglass cloth of each standard valve jacket contains about 50mm mineral wool insulation. They also have draw cords and velcro straps for easy installation around isolation or standard valves.

Easy Installation:

Hard or rigid insulation was generally used to insulate standard valves. You may still find it in use in some places. Rigid insulation on standard valves is quite difficult to work on.

Extreme caution is required every time they were to be removed for maintenance purposes. If the insulation was damaged in the process, then it would be unfit for reinstalling. Time until you get the new insulation, the standard valve in question would continue to lose heat, energy and money.

This is where flexible valve jackets have proven to be most useful. They are very easy to remove and re-install during maintenance. They save a significant amount of time, in fact, they as much as reduce the installation time by half. They do not harm the valves either.

Condensation and Sweating:

If you face issues like valve sweating or water condensing on your isolation valves, then valve jackets can help you prevent them. Mineral wool insulation in these valve jackets ensures that the heat does not escape. Mineral wool is also water-resistant by nature, so it prevents condensation or sweating on standard valves.

This significantly helps in improving workplace safety. They help reduce accidents or slips that happen when tiny water pools formed due to condensing or sweating lead to workplace mishaps.

Valve covers also cover the hot surface of the valves and prevent the heat from spreading to the surroundings. This translates to a cooler and more comfortable work environment, especially in plants and factories. Your workforce will be more efficient when they are comfortable.

How to choose a standard valve jacket online?

At Buy Insulation Online, we stock standard valve covers ranging from 15mm, which is half an inch to about 100mm, which is about 4 inches in size.

Generally, if you have a standard or isolation valve on a 40-inch pipe, then you need a 40-inch valve cover. Before we process any standard valve jacket order, we ask you for the thickness of the pipe lagging. This is because the pipe insulation increases the outer diameter of the pipe and we need to allow the increase on the valve covers made as well.

If you are unsure of the size you need, you can send the images of the standard valve you need insulating or get in touch with us on Whatsapp, live chat, email or call
