PIB insulation covering (Polyisobutylene) is the ideal waterproofing membrane for ventilation ducting and pipework. It gives your exposed insulation and ductwork that final protective coating. This tough, water-resistant PIB insulation sheet has high abrasion resistance and can withstand mechanical damage. It is produced from high molecular weight polyisobutylene, which is modified to achieve optimum properties.
The PIB insulation covering does not age, crack or peel. It is resistant to UV and ozone and is a long-lasting and durable product. It shows exceptional physical properties even at temperatures as low as -30°C. PIB insulation exhibits excellent chemical resistance. It is made to last and effectively protects the pipe and duct insulation from damage due to extreme conditions. It is waterproof, so it does not support the growth of moulds and other microbes.

PIB insulation is long lasting and durable
Highly resistant to chemicals
No specialist adhesive needed
UV and Ozone resistant
PIB insulation is waterproof. Rot and mould resistant.
Virtually non-ageing
Does not harden, crack, peel with age
PIB insulation is flexible and can be used to cover odd, irregular surfaces.
Application:
PIB insulation is a weatherproofing material for insulated ductwork and pipework.
PIB insulation is also used in chemical works, oil refineries and power stations.
Product Features:
Service temperature : -34°C to 72°C
Density: 1.6g/cm3
Tensile Strength: 2.5Nmm2
Elongation: 300%
Specific gravity: 1.6
Colour: Black
Installation:
The PIB insulation sheet should not be used to hold the pipe insulation in place. The pipe insulation needs to be secured in place first before applying the PIB insulation covering.
The PIB sheeting can be easily applied to insulate the pipeline. Cut the PIB insulation to size and wrap it around the insulated pipework.
Used PIB welding agent, a strongly formulated adhesive to provide a neat finish to the PIB insulation covering.
