SilentJoist is the natural and effective way to reduce structure-borne sound transmission caused by contact between joists and floors/subfloors. SilentJoist is rolled out on existing timber or joists prior to wooden floors or subfloors being laid down. Each roll is 100mm wide, 10m long.
Acoustic joist strips are a type of specialised soundproofing material, designed to reduce airborne and impact noise transmission between joists and floors or subfloors in buildings. Made from high-quality and natural sheep's wool these strips are installed between the joists of a floor system to provide a barrier against sound vibrations.
The acoustic joist strips are about 10M in length, 100mm wide and 3mm in thickness. The 3mm thick sheep wool acts as a cushion and reduces impact and footfall sounds effectively. It also reduces friction between timber joists and floors/subfloors and aids in decreasing the noise heard in the rooms below.
