Thermoguard SafeWood MattWood Anti-Viral Varnish is a high-performance, dual-action coating designed to provide both a beautiful decorative finish and a hygienic, safe surface. This anti-viral varnish is a protective clear matt finish applied over Thermoguard Fire Varnish Basecoat as the final step in a complete fire protection system for protecting wood and wood-based boards against fire.
On its own, this overcoat offers a tough, durable finish for interior and exterior wood. Its primary innovation lies in its ability to actively combat pathogens. Contact with the treated surface destroys the casing on “enveloped” coronaviruses and other viruses like influenza, achieving a 99.3% coronavirus reduction in 2 hours. It also disrupts the breeding and causes disintegration of bacteria, resulting in a 99.9% bacteria reduction in 4 hours. This is critical as coronaviruses and bacteria remain contagious for weeks on hard surfaces; hand contact with doors, window sills and other wood create a potential infection risk unless protected with a treatment like SafeWood.
