Proctorwrap Reflect Reflective Breather Membrane from A Proctor Group is a high-performance breather membrane designed to enhance the thermal performance of timber frame and steel frame constructions. Unlike a traditional breather membrane, Proctorwrap Reflect combines excellent vapour permeable properties with a reflective low-emissivity surface to improve the overall energy efficiency of the building envelope.
Manufactured from a durable non-woven polypropylene foil laminate, this reflextive breather membrane provides outstanding breathability while offering secondary protection to the building during construction. Installed on the external face of the frame with the foil side facing outward, it helps protect structures from wind-driven rain, dust, and adverse weather conditions before the external cladding is completed.
Its reflective foil surface contributes to improved thermal performance by reducing radiant heat loss, making it an effective complement to modern insulation systems. At the same time, the membrane allows water vapour to escape from within the wall structure, helping to minimise condensation risk and maintain a healthy building fabric.
Key Features
- Reflective Breather Membrane: Combines vapour permeability with reflective thermal performance benefits.
- Enhances Thermal Performance: Helps improve the thermal performance of insulation used in timber and steel frame structures. Its reflective foil layer helps reduce radiant heat loss.
- Non-Woven Polypropylene Foil Laminate: Manufactured from a durable polypropylene laminate for long-term performance.
- Enahnced Vapour Resistance : Proctorwraps’ vapour resistance of Sd 0.02m is less than the maximum permitted in NHBC requirements
- Suitable for Timber and Steel Frames: Designed specifically for timber frame and light steel frame applications.
Installation:
- Proctorwrap Reflect membrane must be installed in accordance with the A. Proctor Group’s instructions and the recommendations given in NHBC standards, Chapter 6.2, External timber framed walls.
- The product must be secured at regular intervals with austenitic stainless steel staples or nails to prevent damage by wind action.
- Upper layers should overlap lower layers to shed water away from the sheathing.
- Vertical laps should be staggered wherever possible. Once Proctorwrap Reflect is applied to the walls, the primary wall covering should be installed within 3 months.
- Any damaged areas should be repaired or replaced before completion.
- In accordance with NHBC Standards, Chapter 6.2, it is essential that the lowest timbers are protected from moisture and that the positions of the studs are marked to facilitate wall tie fixings.
- Proctorwrap Reflect available in various sizes, providing flexibility for different wall and façade applications
- Proctorwraps’ vapour resistance of Sd 0.02m is less than the maximum permitted in NHBC requirements
- Ideal for walls - timber frame wall and light steel frame applications.
- Proctorwrap Reflect is a non-woven polypropylene foil laminate, providing breathability, as well as secondary protection to the building during construction.
