F.A.Q

For warm flat roof insulation, you can use PIR insulation, while cold flat roofs can be insulated using loft insulation rolls.

Yes. You can add insulation to the underside of the flat roof. However, when applying insulation to an existing flat roof, some of the original frameworks must be removed and replaced.

You can use rigid insulation boards like PIR insulation to insulate flat rolls. It can be placed on top of the weatherproof layer or directly on top of the timber roof surface. The weatherproof layer can then be placed on top of the PIR boards.

When insulating flat roofs you must adhere to building regulations. The aim is to achieve a U value of 0.18W/m2K or lower while insulating flat roofs. Refer to Part L for the current building regulation for flat roofs.

Warm flat roofs can be insulated using PIR boards or other insulation boards, along with a vapour barrier. A cold flat roof can be insulated using loft insulation rolls.
